Humanities at Brooklands School recognises and explicitly acknowledges the human basis of the learning experience. It focuses on the human dimension of the curriculum, that area which deals with people and their interaction with their environment, in its historical, geographical, cultural, social, moral and spiritual dimensions.
We aim to develop in students the skills, enthusiasm and understanding necessary to become life-long learners, and to foster an open-mindedness towards other people and cultures, as well as a sense of responsibility to the world around us.
"The calling of the humanities is to make us truly human in the best sense of the word."
(J. Irwin Miller)
