Tate Modern and V&A Trip Jan 2018

On Friday 12th Jan, 41 year 8 students went on an Art trip to London. To support the Art project year 8 are doing on Russian Revolution propaganda posters and Russian Constructivism, we visited the "Red Star over Russia" exhibition at the Tate Modern. We saw posters and artefacts from the 1917 revolution and then explored the rest of the amazing gallery. Highlights were the swings in the entrance and seeing works by great artists such as Picasso, Anthony Gormley and Joseph Beuys. After a quick lunch we got back on the coach and went to our second gallery of the day, the V&A museum. With so much so see, we focused an the incredible jewellery, 20th century design, furniture and ceramics before hitting the gift shop! Apart from immersing ourselves in culture for the day and seeing breath-taking works of art, a real highlight of the day was Mrs Goring Farrow's tour guide of London via the coach microphone that we all enjoyed and learnt many interesting facts from.
It was a fantastic day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It is such a pleasure to take our students out on trips, they are a real credit to our school, here's to the next trip!
