Royal Opera House Visit

15th December 2017

On Wednesday 29th November the year 8 music option group were fortunate enough to secure tickets to see two operas at the Royal Opera House in London, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci. This wonderful opportunity allowed many students to witness opera for the first time. Amber Connick (8GP) has written an account of the day and how she found the experience.

On Wednesday 29th November I went to the Royal Opera House for the first time ever. It was the first time I had been to London and we saw two operas – Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci. They were amazing! I liked the first one the most because of the way the story was told opening with the closing scene then telling the story which led up to that moment. I had never seen an opera before and I can’t believe I have had the chance to go to the Royal Opera House and see one. I would definitely come back with my friends and family. The best part of the day was arriving in London and seeing the opera house for the first time. I am so grateful for getting to come and can’t wait to go back.
