Youth Parliament Elections

1st March 2016
The week before half term 333 students voted in Youth Parliament elections - a turnout of 87%.  Voting took place in school time.

Ollie Ashwell Year 8 - elected as representative for Central Bedfordshire to UK Youth Parliament

Harry Dignum Year 8 - elected as representative for Brooklands for Central Bedfordshire Youth Parliament and UK Youth Parliament.

There are only 4 representatives from the region to be elected onto UK Youth Parliament, we are very proud that two of these are Brooklands Students.

"We are delighted with the election results and that Ollie and Harry will be representing young people from Central Bedfordshire, and look forward to hearing about the work they do as MPs.  The election process was an excellent opportunity for all our pupils from Year 5 to Year 8 to participate in a real election and the fact that both students have been elected to Youth Parliament will give our students a real insight into the workings of democracy". - Mrs Goring-Farrow, Deputy Headteacher
