Admissions Policies
Starting in Year 5
All parents and carers are required to apply for a place with Central Bedfordshire School Admissions Services. For more information please visit:

September 2026 – middle school transfer information sent from Central Bedfordshire direct to parents/carers via their current lower schools. Transfer forms open online.
November 2026– middle schools have their open evenings and weeks for new parents and pupils. Brooklands Open Evening is Thursday 19th November, 6.00pm - 8.00pm (no appointment necessary). Open week is week commencing 23rd November, visit between 9.00am - 11.00am or 2.00pm - 3.00pm any day that week, no appointment necessary.
January 2027 – national closing date for applications to be received by the School Admissions Team is 15th January 2027.
April 2027 – national offer day for on-time applications is 16th April 2027. Parents/carers will receive letters in the post or an email if they applied online.
Change of preference or if you wish to decline a place needs to be submitted by 30th April 2027.
May – July 2027 – staff from Brooklands will meet lower school staff and the children that have chosen the school.
A programme of afternoon sessions will be offered to children who are worried about the transition and will find the procedure unsettling.
June/July 2027 – Your child will spend two days at their middle school on Wednesday 30th June and Thursday 1st July, where they will meet their new Form Teacher and classmates. Parents / carers will be invited to a parents evening on the Wednesday.
In-Year Admissions
If you wish your child to transfer to our school during the school year (an in-year admission) then you must contact our Admissions Officer directly as we process in-year admissions ourselves.
