Mental Health & Well-being

At Brooklands we believe in promoting a culture which supports everyone’s mental health and well-being. This ethos promotes and encourages a happy and secure environment where everyone feels valued and above all able to flourish and achieve their full potential.

We also strongly believe that everyone is responsible for ensuring one another’s emotional needs are being looked after. This means that all staff members at Brooklands School take an active role in supporting the emotional needs of students and their colleagues.

“Mental Health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to her or his community”

We have a variety of support in place to help support students who feel that they need to talk to someone about either their own mental health and well-being or if they have any concerns regarding one of their peers or members of the wider school community.

There are a number of local and national organisations that can offer support and advice to young adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties.

If you would like further advice regarding the referral process please contact Mrs Robinson or somebody from the well-being team or your child’s GP.

If you have any immediate concerns regarding a child’s mental health and well-being and you feel they could be at risk of harm, please seek urgent advice.
